Do I Need a Dietitian?
Registered Dietitians (RDs) are the food & nutrition experts. RDs have successfully completed a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, at least 900-hours of supervised practice, and passed a national standardized registration examination. They must also maintain continuing education requirements for recertification & licensure in most states. Using practical advice based on scientific evidence, RDs are committed to helping you enjoy a healthy life — your way. Nutrition counseling offers you the chance to begin realistic, lifelong lifestyle changes to enhance your health & overall well-being.
Why Medical Nutrition Therapy?
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) involves the assessment of a client's nutritional status who has been diagnosed with a condition, illness, or injury that puts them at risk. Based on an individualized assessment, nutrition intervention is developed to manage or treat the condition, illness, or injury. Nutrition intervention includes diet modification & counseling, specialized nutrition therapies, and nutrition monitoring & evaluation. MNT services help individuals maintain health, eliminate the need for medication, prevent medical complications, & decrease hospitalization rates. Many specific conditions are successfully treated with nutrition therapy. MNT combined with the appropriate lifestyle & behavior changes are key in prevention & optimizing quality of life. Living Well can assist you in achieving & maintaining your dietary goals.

Follow-Up Evaluation (30-45 minutes) – Follow-Up sessions are used for additional nutrition education, goal evaluation, and to track and monitor any changes. If you choose, I can create a personalized menu plan with recommended recipes to assist you in meeting & sustaining your goals.
